👋 Welcome to Cal Hacks!

We're a nonprofit organization composed of students passionate about fostering a culture of hacking, entrepreneurship, and social good via the empowerment of technology.

Our annual hackathon, one of the largest hackathons in the world, is where the technology of the future is born. We also run a few other exciting initiatives like Cubstart Decal and Fellowship to further our impact on creative students at Berkeley and beyond.

Our mission is to empower others with technology to create solutions to better the world, and we hope you can be a part of it!

✨ Become a Cal Hacks Director

Join the Cal Hacks Director team this spring and help us in welcoming back the world’s largest collegiate hackathon to Berkeley! We’re a small, tight-knit team of undergrads across English, statistics, cognitive science, business, and other majors — of course, including computer science and data science — and we’d love to have you join us this semester!

There are no hard requirements to apply: you don’t need to come from a certain major or have attended lots of hackathons before. Creating a 2500+ person hackathon and planning events, in general, take all different kinds of work, and it can only be done with a diverse mix of team members who are driven with a common goal.

Please read on to see the teams that we’re recruiting for this semester, and we look forward to meeting you soon!
